Dr Kiff was appointed as Consultant Anaesthetist in Intensive Care Medicine at Broomfield Hospital in 1997, when he also gained practising privileges at Springfield Hospital.  During this time, he has held a number of senior leadership roles including Clinical Director for Critical and Emergency Care at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.  In this role he developed a deeper understanding of the need for patient centred care, structured clinical governance, and transparent clinical outcome measures.

Dr Kiff regularly anaesthetises for several specialties including orthopaedics, ENT, upper GI surgery, urology, and ophthalmology.  His patient and colleague feedback scores are of a consistently high standard. He takes pride in helping patients feel informed and relaxed in preparation for their operation.

Dr Kiff has published original research and audit throughout his career, and he was the senior editor for the textbook Training in Anaesthesia, published by OUP (ISBN-10: 0199227268). This is a key textbook used by trainee anaesthetists through the years and whilst revising for their fellowship exams.

Dr Kiff revalidated with the GMC in 2023 with a licence to practise until 2028
